House Church
(Apollos) He began to speak boldly and fearlessly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained more accurately to him the way of God [and the full story of the life of Christ]. (Acts 18:26 Amplified)
My beloved child from My Son’s birth and for many generations, churches were in homes. Don’t be surprised if it begins to happen again, for I am doing a New Thing, do you not perceive it and know it? Aquila was a valuable teacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ message, and he had a radical approach to his ministry and in his marriage. He and his wife Priscilla traveled with the Apostle Paul, and they established a church in their home in Ephesus. (1 Corinthians 16:19) Apollos who was a powerful minister of the Gospel was teaching in Ephesus. He was fervent in spirit; he spoke and taught the Word of God accurately. He knew about the baptism of John, and he spoke boldly. Aquila and Priscilla took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. (Acts 18:25-26) They were an amazing couple – examples of the hospitality of passion for Christ and they passed on to others what they had learned about the message of Jesus and encouraged new believers in their faith. Their ministry was practical and powerful.
What was radical about Aquilla’s ministry? It was radical because he involved his wife Priscilla who appears to be an equal partner in all he did at a time when it wasn’t cool for women to be involved in ministry in the first century Roman Empire. The Roman Empire didn’t see women as equal to men, or their husbands. They were used mightily to impact and build the Kingdom. God’s eyes are on men and women in this hour who are of equal value in building the Kingdom and spreading the gospel message.
Many are called in this hour to birth ministry right in your home. The anointing is released for you to boldly step forth and obey the Lord right where you are. Why? Ministry is all about fellowshipping with one another and breaking bread together. Arise and be led by the Holy Spirit. Someone has been waiting on a confirmation to start a Bible Study, a prayer meeting, a meeting of fellowship in your home, this serves as a confirmation from the Lord for you to obey.
