Yoke Easy, Burden Light
Have you had God speak to you but you just didn’t get the revelation or the full understanding of it and then without expecting you had a God ahhh ha Moment! That happened to me as I share hot off the press from heaven and I pray you get the understanding too! I kept waking up hearing the Holy Spirit say: ‘Do what I have asked you to do and I will take care of you! Let Me take this load off you that you are carrying.’ ”Burden easy and Yoke Light!’
Then Jesus said,” Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:26-30 NLT) Today I was studying this scripture in Greek so I could fully understand it and growing up on a farm helped me to have a full understanding of this verse. The word 1. LABOR in this verse in Greek means the most wearisome kind of labor, this kind of person is striving/ laboring with every fiber of their being. Describing people who have worked so long and so hard without taking a break that work has become wearisome, exhausting, and unending. The word 2. HEAVY LADEN in Greek denotes a load or burden that seems normal to them or there is an expectancy for a person to carry in life. It’s a Military term describing carrying a backpack which is expected as a soldier. The weight of the backpack is determined by the length of the journey. If the trip is short the backpack is lighter. If the trip is longer then the heavier the backpack. Jesus was referring to people in this Scripture who had been doing their job for a long time and wasn’t done yet, and they had a long way to go!
Jesus said, ‘Come unto Me, and I will give you rest. The word 3. REST I the Greek means to relax, to calm, to cease, to desist, or to refrain from working. It could be translated in English: 4. ’TAKE A BREAK!’ Take time to get away from your responsibilities! You may have a hard assignment ahead but Jesus promised: ‘If you would come to Him – He would give you rest to continue. Jesus said, ‘5. Take My Yoke upon you – The word take in the Greek means to deliberately lift up or take up. It implies ONE must deliberately invite Jesus into the harness or load so He can help you pull the plow! The word 6. YOKE and describes in Greek a wooden yoke that joined the two animals together so they could combine their strength to pull a load that generally it would have been too difficult for one animal to pull by itself. (Deuteronomy 32:30)
Example: One person praying puts a thousand to flight but 2 people praying put 10,000 to flight and a 3 fold cord cannot easily be broken. This yoke made the team inseparable and as a result, are stronger together and the tasks were easier! Jesus wants to come alongside you and join you in each assignment to make it easier for you. Today Jesus desires to become yoked with you and it will become easier. It’s my choice to allow Jesus to link up with me and make things easier. When you let go and lay on the altar whatever you are carrying: being alone, raising your children alone, loss of job, loss of spouse whatever you are facing He desires to Come onboard Now and make your life easier. The word 7. EASY in Greek literally means pleasurable, delightful, and comfortable. That means it is a delight to work with the Lord. When you are yoked to Jesus even the most difficult becomes easy and it changes the atmosphere. It will bring peace and strength to your soul. Being yoked to Jesus will bring peace to your spirit and your soul. Jesus + you = majority.
He is your partner. He is the greatest partner in the Universe and things are now becoming EASY and LIGHT. I am giving you ‘Yoke Easy and Burden Light’.
