Worship God While You’re Waiting

My beloved let’s be real when you are in a waiting season it is challenging. You wonder at times how long is this going to last. God is not in a hurry and it’s a whole lot easier if we yield to His plan. He is preparing you for promotion! He’s preparing you to handle the next level He’s taking you to, and you don’t want to rush it and have a back-set. So, what do you do when you are in a waiting season that seems like it’s never going to end? You praise Him and you worship Him. The word for worship is proskuneo and it means in both Greek and Hebrew worship means ‘to kiss God on the hand.’ It means to bow low to the ground and worship Him. He created you for His good pleasure. (Ephesians 2:10) He created us to worship Him. (Isaiah 43:7)

Have you ever wondered where in the Bible worship is first mentioned? Perhaps you think King David worshipped God, he was a man after God’s own heart. Go read the book of Psalms. David worshiped God every day and night. Worship is mentioned in the Bible for the 1st time in (Genesis 22:5) and it’s extremely important. It’s called the ‘law of the first’ mention. Set in the lives of Abraham and Isaac. And Abraham said to his young men, ‘Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.’” Abraham, by the Word of the Lord, was going to offer up his son of faith, Isaac, as a burnt offering on Mount Moriah. What a profound, complex, and yet straightforward statement! (Genesis 22:5)

(Genesis 22:8) continues,And Abraham said, ‘My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.’” This is an extraordinary prophetic narrative that unfolds. Of course, Jesus is our sacrificial Lamb, and His life laid down for us is the ultimate act of worship as the Son of God who became the Son of Man. Shocking!! The first thing Abraham did was make an altar then Abraham and Isaac worship God first. So, we see worship as not a group of people playing instruments in harmony together. Worship very simply is to bow down in your heart before God. Worship in its purest form is not about how your worship God externally as it is internally. It is about the internal posture of the heart. Worship is an act of surrender.

God is so serious about you, and I worship Him, it’s the first of the ten commandments, ‘thou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul. (Deuteronomy 6:5, Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30) “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10) “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will, they existed and were created.” (Revelation 4:11) (John 4:23) But the hour is coming and is now here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. (Psalms 95:6) Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
