Won’t He Do It!
My precious one, pay attention to what happened to Jehoshaphat, a vast army from three countries beyond the sea came to battle against this man. If three countries were coming to take you out, how would you feel? Shaken with fear, Jehoshaphat sought the Lord, proclaiming a fast in Judah and seeking God. Sounds a little too familiar! The difference is that Judah and Jerusalem were united. And sought the Lord and fasted. (2 Chronicles 20:1-4) Jehoshaphat took his position at the temple of God and prayed, (2 Chronicles 20:10-12) Then the spirit of the Lord moved upon Jahaziel, and he said, this is what the Lord says: ‘Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions, then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!” (2 Chronicles 20:13-14)
Then King Jehoshaphat bowed low with his face to the ground and worshipped God. And all the people of Judah and Jerusalem did the same, worshiping the Lord. Early the next morning, the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way, Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.” (2 Chronicles 20:18-20) After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor and loudly. This is what they repeatedly sang:
“Praise ye the Lord; His mercy endures forever and ever!”
The very moment they began singing and praising the Lord, the military coming turned on themselves and started killing each other until they were all dead. (2 Chronicles 20:21-24) All Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah did was sing praises unto God! The next battle you face, get your praise on and begin praising the Lord and watch Him cause the enemy to turn and destroy themselves! Won’t He do it! Jehoshaphat and his people carried out the spoils for three days! (2 Chronicles 20:25) And on the fourth day, they didn’t forget to go down to the Valley of Blessing and praised God for all He had done for them! (2 Chronicles 20:26) Many believers are praying for our country; it doesn’t matter which side you are on, the question I want to ask you is, ‘Are you on God’s side? Do you fear God and what He can do?’ The fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries when they heard that God fought the battle against the enemy! God will fight the battle again for you; only be still! (Exodus14:14)
