Unshakeable Foundations
Precious one, when I call you to live a sanctified holy life, my beloved child looks like a blueprint for building a house. In the first stage of building a house, it is essential to lay a firm foundation. Your foundation spiritually is nothing less than Jesus Christ My Son as the Chief cornerstone. See, I lay a stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation, the One who trusts will never be disappointed. (Isaiah 28:16) Any other foundation that is not Christ will not stand.
Many years ago, I married a man, and I honestly thought we were equally yoked at the time. (2 Corinthians 6:14) If I shared the details you would think it was a God-thing. But I have learned from that experience to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, He doesn’t lie! Not long after the marriage; I realized I had been deceived. (Matthew 24:24) I didn’t think that was possible because I love Jesus so much, in the Word, and committed to Christ. The red flags were there before the marriage, but I didn’t listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Many men and women believe they can help the other person become what God created them to be. That is a lie from the pit of hell! You cannot fix or help anyone else! You can only work on you and they have to want to help themselves and rely on the Father to change them. You are in for years of unhappiness and pain if you sign up for that! When everything began to fall apart in my world, God revealed to me there were cracks in my foundation. I saw in a vision Father God with a jackhammer tearing out my foundation. When He finished, all that was left was a 12” x 12” square for me to stand on. When I looked, I realized I had to keep my eyes on Jesus because if I fell off that small square, it would be the death of me. Then little by little, God began to rebuild my foundation in Him, healing and restoring me from the inside out. It took eighteen long months.
The next step is your framework. As you enter a walk of faith in Jesus, He allows you to experience trials, testing’s, miracles, and challenges throughout life that are designed to build your faith to demonstrate visible evidence of Christ’s work in your life such as:
1. Moses and the burning bush
2. Peter walking on the water
3. The parting of the Red Sea for the children of Israel to walk through on dry ground
These experiences built the faith of these people. Forty years ago, my best friend said, ‘Judy I have never known anyone who has experiences like you! The depth and the width of your calling are directly comparable to your faith experiences the Father allows in your life. The higher the call, the greater the challenges you will face; why? It builds your faith! There is no doubt about it, I have Great Faith! You have overcoming experiences to remind you of the call and establish your testimony. Your tests become your testimony!
The third stage deals with your heart motives. “All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but the Lord weighs motives.’ (Proverbs 16:2) What are your reasons behind your actions? I, the Lord your God, am the One who gives your favor and power to do anything by the power of the Holy Spirit. Whatever you do must be out of obedience to the Holy Spirit’s direction and open doors.
Finally, prepare yourself in the waiting season to take action when He opens the doors.
Ask yourself am I qualified, skilled, and able to enter into what the Father is calling me to do. Do whatever you have to do to be trained adequately for the endeavor I’m calling you to, such as you wouldn’t go to someone to work on your teeth, which is not certified as a dentist to work on teeth. Before you begin your next project, ask yourself these questions:
1. What is the foundation this project is based on?
2. What experiences has God demonstrated in my life that indicate He is involved in it?
Moses said, ‘I will not go Lord unless you go with me! (Exodus 33:14-16) I will not go anywhere unless God goes with me, because it will fail.
3. What is my motive for entering this activity?
4. Am I qualified and skilled to accomplish this task?
Answering these questions will tell you if I, the Lord your God, will bless your activity. Make sure your foundation is solid and make Christ Jesus the chief cornerstone to stand the test of time! (Ephesians 2:19-22)
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness.
On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.
The foundation I stand on today is solid, how about yours?
