Traits of a Narcissist/Jezebel Spirit
Wake up Church!
“But I have a few things against you: You permit that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat food sacrificed to idols” (Revelations 2:20).
God has given you a spirit of discernment for a purpose. (1 Corinthians 12:8-12) ‘In the last days, false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. (Matthew 24:24) A narcissist/Jezebel spirit has character traits you can easily recognize if you pay attention and discern what the spirit of the Lord is saying. It’s all witchcraft! What is witchcraft? It means, ‘which craft will a person uses to manipulate or control someone.’ A person who performs harmful acts toward others. Witch comes from the Old English Wicca, a male witch, warlock, sorcerer – a female is a sorceress. This spirit destroys God’s true image in the family and defies His loving order in the church. (Revelation 2:26-28.) There is a great prize for winning this war. When we overthrow the demonic stronghold of (Narcissist/Jezebel spirit), we secure lineage and legacy within Christ’s body. As Elijah did, we will be able to call down the rain of revival and breathe life into barren places. He who has an ear to hear let him hear what the spirit of God is saying. Remember the spirit of Jezebel/Narcissist has NO Gender! Traits of a Jezebel/Narcissist:
1.A Jezebel’s attitude is: it’s all about Me! Me! Me! They talk about themselves and are not interested in the conversation if it is not all about them. The world revolves around them; they love the spotlight, drawing attention to self, and everything about them is grandiose!
No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. (John 1:1-18)
2. A person with this spirit believes they are entitled and expect others to serve them.
Jesus said, ‘I didn’t come to be served, but to serve!’
(Matthew 20:28, James 4:1-12)
3. Bitter, revengeful, angry, hate, rage, can be violent and they have a spirit of rejection. They will not let others know but they have self- hatred, self-rejection, they loath themself. Jezebel’s/Narcissists greatest fear is to be rejected. Reject others before you have a chance to reject them. You can’t win an argument with them. They love a good fight. They will cut you open with a knife with their words and leave you laying there to bleed to death. They won’t say I am sorry. It’s never their fault, they convince you that you are wrong or your crazy. The relationship is toxic!
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. (1 John 4:20-21)
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. ’Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you through Christ. (Ephesians 4:31-32)
4.They take advantage of, using others for their benefit. If they are in ministry – beware: they pursue those whom they believe has money. They believe the people that go to their church belong to them, you belong to God. They seek validation. They’re paranoid and insecure, however, they present themselves as secure and do not want others to know they are insecure. If you are kind to others, a narcissist/Jezebel will take your forgiveness and kindness and turn it into a weapon to use against you. Watch the way they treat others, especially their spouse and children.
However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (Ephesians 5:33)
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. (John 15:12)
Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring each other. (Romans 12:10)
God has not given you a spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound mind – self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)
5. Invalidate others, making them feel less than, they are deceptive and cause you to doubt yourself. They make themselves look good, they tell you what they believe you want to hear (example: presenting themselves as a godly man or woman), but they are the opposite of what they present. A Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, they are one way publicly and complete opposite behind closed doors. They have no compassion or empathy for you or others.
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:8-12)
6. They will suck the life out of you. They believe they are a victim and will give you a big sob story, to make you feel sorry for them. Beware, they have an agenda, relentlessly pursuing what they want. They want to feel important. They cause division in families and churches and are the reason for many church splits.
These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. (Jude 1:19)
Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore, I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. (Romans 16:17-20)
7. A malignant Jezebel/narcissist is charming to win you over; however, they will cheat on you, their mean and ugly to you and others, and they are dangerous in relationships. They use coercive control, isolate you from the people you love, monitor, and control to whom you talk. They financially abuse you and take from you. They control their spouse and cause their children to take sides or worse abuse their children so severely they want nothing to do with that spirit – that spirit leaves them dysfunctional, and they numb themselves to keep from feeling the pain with drugs/alcohol. (You must break the power of the Narcissist/Jezebel Spirit over your children.) Mentally they control you, and you end up like a puppet on a string, lest you break free and receive healing.
Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? Have you experienced so much for nothing? Surely it was not in vain, was it? (Galatians 3:1-5)
8. A noble Jezebel they give lots of $$$ to organizations (usually not to win the lost or souls saved) to get their name on a building and make themselves look like a Savior to the community.
“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. (Matthew 6:1)
9. Other character traits include manipulation, control, deception, lying, a dominant spirit, idol worship (anything or anyone you put up on a pedestal near God is an idol) arrogant, prideful, independent, rebellious, often very charismatic; they seek to influence to gain an ear, cause division (in relationship and church) , and make you think it always your fault. What you consistently hear, you eventually believe. It’s all witchcraft!
Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)
Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. (Colossians 3:4-14)
“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.” Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. I violated the Lord’s command and your instructions. I was afraid of the men and so I gave in to them. Now I beg you, forgive my sin and come back with me, so that I may worship the Lord.” But Samuel said to him, “I will not go back with you. You have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you as king over Israel!” (1 Samuel 15:22-25)
10. They go after what they want and win you over with flattery, compliments, they have an envious jealous spirit, they are envious of what others have or will try to make you jealous of them. Envy is to desire something you do not have – it is spite and resentment at the success of someone else. Jealousy is the negative thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear and anxiety. Jealousy can consist of one or more emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness or disgust.
Where there is a Jezebel there will be an Ahab close by. (Watch for Ahab teaching tomorrow)
A person who flatters his neighbor is spreading a net for him to step into. To an evil person sin is bait in a trap, but a righteous person runs away from it and is glad. (Proverbs 29:5-6)
An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked person: There is no dread of God before his eyes, for in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to discover and hate his sin. The words of his mouth are malicious and deceptive; he has stopped acting wisely and doing good. (Psalms 26:1-3)
For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. (James 3:16)
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
(Proverbs 14:30)
Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy? (Proverbs 27:4)
11. Narcissist/Jezebel Spirit has been deeply wounded people with a spirit of rejection, betrayal, abandonment and they have self-hate. Their legalistic and religious. Legalism is what you do for people to see. Holiness is what you do for God to see. A religious spirit condemns and puts to shame. They are very judgmental.
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
(Romans 5:5)
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, and because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. (Romans 8:1-2)
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.
(Matthew 7:1-5)
12. Narcissist/Jezebel Spirit is rebellious and will not submit to authority, they are the authority in their mind. They have an anti-christ spirit, which is everything opposite of the Word of God, and warning: watch those who are in ministry who ever so slightly twist the Word to make it what they want it to say. That is why you are to test the spirits and take your Bible with you so you can make sure they are reading the Word as the Word of God says. And lastly, they will try to assassinate your character but remember this, ‘God is your vindicator!’
Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. (1 Sam. 15:23)
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap, burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:19-21)
Those operating under Narcissist/Jezebel’s snare need to be healed. God loves all people and wants to see every man and woman set free in Jesus’ all-powerful name! For love’s sake, God deals redemptively with those under Jezebel’s influence. The generational curse of Jezebel can be broken when confronted with the truth of God’s Word and the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Order can be restored, and the Spirit of Elijah can be poured out, turning the hearts of the fathers to their children. Tolerating Jezebel can cause sickness; therefore, overcoming its influence will restore health and life. God loves obedience. Obedience is better in God’s eyes than sacrifice. The church at Thyatira left Jezebel alone. God will richly reward the church in a city that will not tolerate its evil in their midst. (1 Samuel 15:22) I believe every person can be a Narcissist/Jezebel without keeping yourself in check with God’s Word; you can break the power of this spirit. Many years ago, I was married to a Narcissist/Jezebel and in ministry, and I have first-hand experience at being married to a Jezebel and myself becoming an Ahab, but I broke free from the spirit of Jezebel. It’s not easy to break free. Use caution lest you may not make it out alive. I am free from those spirits and whom the son has set free is free indeed. Decide today, whom you will serve? But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord! (Joshua 24:15)
Pray with me with authority in the Name of Jesus.
Father, You are the only true God! I choose to follow you not a spirit and not a man/woman. I render the narcissist/Jezebel spirit powerless over my life. I take authority over the threats and the fear of those spirits. I sever Jezebel/narcissism at the root, I curse and renounce you and render you powerless. You will no longer control my life! I declare and decree Father I make the choice this day, I will serve you alone Father God, not a human being. I take back my voice! Give me a backbone to arise and be all that you called me to be. I break this stronghold! Father I come to you in the all-powerful name of Jesus and I release the Word of God that has the power to heal and restore me from this spirit that has power over me, but No More! I receive by faith my freedom in the mighty matchless name of Jesus Christ the Messiah! Amen!
Pray this if you are operating under the spirit of Jezebel/Narcissism:
Father I come boldly before your throne and I recognize I have tried to control others, manipulating them, lying and deceiving them. I confess and renounce as sin my actions and attitudes of manipulation, domination, and control of other people. I repent for operating in the ways of a narcissist/Jezebel. Forgive me. I receive Your love and obediently submit to You. I resist the devil and stand against this demonic stronghold in Jesus’ mighty name. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I receive by faith my freedom. By the grace of God, I will honor delegated authority in my life and not displace them. Thank You for a new beginning of purity, humility, and holiness based on God’s Word. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set me free on the authority of the Word of God in Jesus most holy name! Amen.
