Signs of a Stony Heart
Beloved one I challenge you today to stop what you are doing and do a heart checkup. A hardened heart is a heart that is not upset or disturbed by things others would be compassionate about. A heart rebelling against God and His Word. If we are truthful with ourselves, we all have had or perhaps still have a few of these traits that we need to repent of and be more intentional in our lives. As a believer, we are continually dying to our flesh daily. Allow the Holy Spirit to shed light on your heart and reveal anything that is not pleasing to the Lord in your heart. “A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thorn bushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. (Luke 6:43-45 NLT) Out of the abundance of your heart, the mouth speaks. (Matthew 12:34, Luke 6:45) Guard your words! Your words have power. Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies. (Psalms 141:3)
Here is a list of 21 strong warning signs that a heart has hardened and needs repair: a superficial relationship with God, stubbornness, no authentic connection with the Holy Spirit, hateful, inflexible, anger, prideful, a flippant attitude, not concerned, arrogant, blame shifter, resentful, easily offended, unforgiving, not understanding of others point of view, lack of compassion, fault finder, lack of empathy, selfishness, spiteful unrepentance, and bitter. If you find any of these traits hiding in your heart the remedy is humble repentance before the Lord, our God. Ask God to forgive you, then take authority and dominion over the wicked spirit trying to dominate your heart and be cleansed. Apply the blood of Jesus to your heart and meditate on the Word of God, day, and night. You can restore yourself back to right standing with the Lord and have a clean heart.
Declare this with me:
Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you. Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness. Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you. The sacrifice you desire Father is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. (Psalms 51:10-17)
