Today Matters
Beloved one no matter what you are going through, no matter the situation or circumstances today matters, make the most of it! Make every minute count. Mary learned something from the angel. God had been watching her. Guess what? He’s watching you! She lived a life of discipline and discretion. When her friends wanted to go out to have a good time on the town, she said, no! I suppose they called her a fuddy-duddy or other names that were trendy at that time. But it didn’t matter, she remained disciplined. She remained focused and knew she had a calling on her life and God had a great plan for her. What it was she did not know until the angel of the Lord appeared to make the announcement that she would give birth to the Christ child.
God has a plan and a purpose for you, but you must press into the Father then He will open it up before you. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) Most people will not wait on the Lord to reveal it. They want to rush it. God is not in a hurry. Mary prepared herself over time to be greatly used. Even in private moments when there was no glamor, or she was all alone, God saw, and she was never alone. Neither are you! God is with you, and He will go with you wherever you go, and He will not leave you until He has fulfilled all His promises to you. (Genesis 28:15) Mary found favor with God.
In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!” Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “For you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most-High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!” Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.”
The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most-High will overshadow you. So, the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month. For the word of God will never fail.” Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her. (Luke 1:26-38)
My prayer for you:
