The Sins of the Father
I lavish My unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected – even children in the third and fourth generations.” (Exodus 34:7 NLT)
My beloved child, when you have been in the presence of the Most-High God, your skin will glow, the light of Christ will shine all around you. Moses had such an experience! The Lord said to Moses, “Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke. (Exodus 43:1 NKJV) Be ready in the morning to climb Mount Sinai and get set to meet Me on top of the mountain. Not a soul is to go with you; the whole mountain must be clear of people and all animals.” (Exodus 34:2-3 Message) He got up early in the morning and climbed Mount Sinai as God had commanded him, carrying the two tablets of stone.
God came down in a cloud and stood there with him and called out His name, Yahweh. The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, Yahweh! “The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. I lavish My unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected – even children in the third and fourth generations.” (Exodus 34:4-7)
“Thou shalt not make for yourself an idol of any kind, an image of anything in the heavens, on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the parents’ sins upon their children; the entire family is affected-even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. (Deuteronomy 5:8-9 NLT) The consequences of sin are death. (Romans 6:23) When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. (Romans 5:12 NLT) The antidote for sin has always been repentance. (1 John 1:9) The curses were broken when Israel turned from their wicked ways of serving idols, repented of their sins to serve the Living God, and God saved them. (Judges 3:9, 15)
When there are sinful lifestyles in the bloodline, the children will likely practice the same sins. They choose to repeat the sins of ungodly parents as rebellious children. However, you can choose to stop the curse with you and break the curse off yourself, your children, and your grandchildren by repenting of the sins, iniquities, and transgressions in your bloodline. All you have to do is sever at the root the sins, iniquities, and transgressions, curse and renounce the sins and in its place release the Word of God which has the power to deliver, save, heal and restore you. Then consecrate yourself before the Lord. Through repentance, you are a new creation in Christ. Old things are passed away and all things are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17) Break the cycle today and be free! When you repent of these bloodline curses, you free yourself and your children and grandchildren from now till Jesus comes!
