The Power of Your Words

by
My precious child, 2020 to 2030, is the ‘decade of your mouth.’ What if every word you speak this year, happens? Your words are a powerful creative force ready to create! I can tell you that every word you speak will manifest before your eyes. Choose your words wisely! When I created the world and all that is in it, I spoke, and it was. I said, ‘let there be light, and there was light!’ (Genesis 1:3). Your words are a creative power that brings forth those things which do not exist. (Romans 4:17) You all fail in many areas, but especially with your words. Yet if you’re able to bridle the words, you say you are powerful enough to control yourselves in every way, and that means your character is mature and fully developed. Horses have bits and bridles in their mouths so that you can control and guide their large bodies. And it is the same with mighty ships, though they are massive and driven by fierce winds, yet a tiny rudder steers them at the direction of the person at the helm. And so, the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it carries great power! Just think of how a small flame can set a vast forest ablaze. (James 3:2-5)
You can call those things that be not as though they were and I will do it! (Romans 4:17) Your tongue is a gift from God placed at your command to declare the blessing of the Lord, but you can also curse yourself with it. (Proverbs 18:21) Choose this day how you will use it. Use it wisely, and you will discover a secret of living the blessed life. Take note of this, ‘everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. (James 1:19-20) Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you. Don’t merely listen to the Word and deceive yourself. Do what it says! Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. (James 1:21-24) But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues it – not forgetting what they heard but doing in – they will be blessed in what they do. Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongue deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. (James 1:25-26) The words you speak have power in them and will come to pass – be it negative or positive!

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7 NKJV)

My beloved child your attitude determines your altitude. If you look at everything, negatively it impacts you emotionally, spiritually and naturally, and likewise, if you look at everything in with a positive outlook, it will change you in a good way. All things work to the good of them who love the Lord and those who are called according to His purposes. (Romans 8:28) Paul is an excellent example to us. As he sat in a Roman prison bound in chains he declared, “I want you to know that the things I have gone through have helped to spread the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:12) He could have chosen while he was in prison awaiting trial to take a break, but instead, he used this opportunity to build momentum spreading the gospel. Paul stayed focused on his vision for the future. He was determined to make an impact wherever he went.
George Washington Carver said, “no one has any right to come into the world and go out of it without leaving behind him distinct and legitimate reasons for having passed through it.” What is your purpose? You don’t know? What do you love? Your purpose is connected to what you love. Paul was focused on his purpose to preach and spread the gospel to all humankind who crossed his path. He discovered as you will if you haven’t your purpose motivates you and will help you to keep your priorities straight. The more you focus on your potential you will realize your purpose gives you the power to live in the present and develop your potential. You can have all the potential in the world, but it won’t even buy you a cup of coffee. Mark Twain said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” A positive attitude will come naturally. Zig Ziglar recommended, “Every morning get up and have a check-up from the neck-up and get rid of stinking thinking!” Out of the abundance of the heart (mind) the mouth speaks. (Matthew 12:24-25) For as a man thinks so is, he. (Proverbs 23:7) “Attitude is a magnet. What you think about you bring about.”
