The Greatest Leader Who Ever Lived
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy because I am holy.”(1 Peter 1:15-16 NLT)
Precious one Jesus was the greatest leader who ever lived. Today, a huge problem we have around the globe is leaders who do not live or lead like Jesus. There is a lack of integrity and holiness. People want REAL. We see enough fake and false pretense in the world, but people are longing for a leader who leads by godly example living a holy life. (1 Peter 1:16) We need more leaders who lead like Jesus. He chose people over power and profit. 7 leadership lessons from Jesus that will help to mold you to be a leader others desire to follow:
1. Self- Sacrifice – there is no place in leadership for ego. Jesus the Son of God humbled Himself and died in our place on an old rugged cross. Jesus was not all about Jesus! He taught us the first shall be last and the last shall be first, (Matthew 20:16) and declared the humble will be exalted and the exalted will be humbled. (Luke 14:11) Leading as Jesus begins with humility and self-sacrifice. (Philippians 2:5-8) If you want to be like Jesus, deny yourself and take up the cross as He did. (Luke 9:23) Die to your flesh killing every ounce of selfish motive, and desire in your life including wrong thoughts.
2. Serve people – Ministry is about serving others. There is no place for ego, or self-serving wanting people to serve you. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. (John 13:14) For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45) Everything in your life should revolve around serving others. You must first learn to serve before you can lead
The first two secrets of being a great leader are serving others and self-sacrifice – give of yourself to others.
