What if you are interviewing a person for a high-ranking position and you ask them to tell you about themselves then they open their mouth and you discover they have a speech impediment, they stutter, do you proceed forward in the interview or stop? As you decide to move forward you also learn that along with their poor speaking skills this person has a very low self-esteem and suggests to you why don’t you get someone else for the job, what do you do? Would they be a candidate for your job opening or not? That is exactly what happened in God’s conversation with Moses at the burning bush! Moses asked God similar questions! (Exodus 3:1-22, 4:1-17) Moses must have jumped for joy when God said, ‘He was going to rescue His people from oppression in Egypt. Imagine Moses reaction when he learned that God chose him to be the one to challenge Pharaoh and lead the people out of slavery! It had been forty years since Moses had left Egypt and had a new life in Midian. He was so removed from people that he had not even circumcised his son. (Exodus 4:25) At first Moses resisted the call to greatness. Until God overcame all of Moses objections one by one of why he shouldn’t be the one for the job. God sent Moses toward Egypt toward is date with destiny. It was then He realized God equips you to carry out the assignment He gives you. It is still true today I the Lord your God equip for your date with destiny! One act of obedience can transform your life.
