Talk to God and Listen!
My beloved child Paul said, “I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin-a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law. I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church, killing many until I had a divine encounter with the Spirit of God, and He changed me in a moment! He even changed my name from Saul to Paul! And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault. I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done for you and me. (Philippians 3:5-7) Christ Jesus, the Son of God, paid the price for your sins, so you don’t have to! He saved you by grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from Him. Salvation is not a reward for the good things you have done so that no one can boast about it. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Salvation is the first step in moving forward to having an intimate relationship with Christ Jesus our Lord. He longs to walk with you and talk with you.
Christ desires to be the first person you talk to in your waking moments. Tell Him how much you love Him. How long has it been since you voiced your love to Father God? He paid a great price sacrificing His own Son for you to live in freedom and liberty, not bound by the old law. When was the last time you expressed your love to Jesus? He was willing to be the sacrifice, taking the stripes upon His back so you can walk in healing and wholeness in every area of your life and shedding His blood for your salvation! Have you ever expressed your love and gratitude to the Holy Spirit for going with you everywhere you go and protecting you? The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, although they are one – each has specific active roles in your life! Take two minutes periodically throughout your day, talk to the Holy Spirit and express your gratitude for all He’s done for you. Enoch talked to God and fellowshipped with God. One day He was closer to Heaven than home and just walked right on into Heaven. (Genesis 5:24)
Koinonia is a translated form of the Greek word which refers to fellowship and joint participation. When you talk to God, listen to what He has to say to you, then write it down! God has more to say to you than you have to say to Him, but you must listen. When I sold real estate, I started stealing moments throughout my day to have a Power Breaks – I would go to the bathroom for 5 minutes several times through the day to pray, talk to the Father and listen to Him. I would often go back to my office and have the answer to a problem or the wisdom to know how to handle issues on the job. Just five minutes with the Father can change everything! It’s a great time to let go of old habits and ways to destroy you and create new ones. (Proverbs 16:25) The most important thing you will do today is talking to your creator and thank Him for His goodness to you. The more grateful you are, the more you will have to be grateful for. If you allow the Father, He will order your steps and show you the way of life more abundantly, granting you the joy of His presence and the pleasure of living forever. (Psalms 16:11)
