Take-out the Enemy!
My child, what giant do you need to conquer in your life? David was the baby of the family and a young man after God’s own heart. He was tending the sheep on the mountain’s backside when his Father sent for him to go to the battlefield with food for his brothers. When he saw Goliath mocking and provoking the army of God’s people, he was on the warpath! David insisted, ‘let me take out the enemy!’ (1 Samuel 17:41-44 NLT). What battle training did David have? He had killed a lion and a bear protecting the sheep. He was a handy dandy with a slingshot, but was he prepared to face Goliath? What prepared him to take out the uncircumcised Philistine? David had great faith, and he stepped forward in complete trust that God was with him. God is with you right now in whatever battle you are facing! (Genesis 28:15, Isaiah 41:10)
David declared, ‘The God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defiled – this day the Lord will conquer you, this battle belongs to the Lord, and He will give you to us! (1 Samuel 17:45-47 NLT) David declared, in front of the crowd, ‘you come to me with a spear and a sword, but I come to you in the name of the Lord, this day I will have your head on a platter. Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, David hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down on the ground.
So, David triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, for he had no sword. Then David ran over and pulled Goliath’s sword from its sheath. David used it to kill him and cut off his head. (1 Samuel 17:48-51 NLT) David didn’t back down to the giant; instead, he stepped forward in absolute trust in God. The battle your facing is not your battle; this battle belongs to the Lord. You don’t need a weapon to conquer the giant in your life; you need great faith and trust in God that He will do what His Word says He will do! Decide today, allow the Lord to fight for you and win! Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. The Lord will fight for you; only be still! (Exodus 14:13-14)
Declare this with me:
Father God, I declare on the authority of the Word of God, I will not fear! Thank you for fighting for me in this battle; all I have to do is still! (Exodus 14:14) Thanks be to God, who always causes me to triumph. (2 Corinthians 2:14)
