Speak to It!
My child, early one morning I was returning to the city, and I was hungry. Seeing a fig tree alongside the road, I approached it anticipating a breakfast of figs. When I got to the tree, there was nothing but fig leaves. I said, “No more figs from this tree, ever!” The fig tree withered on the spot, a dry stick. (Matthew 21:18-19) The disciples saw it happen. They rubbed their eyes, saying, “Did we really see this? A leafy tree one minute, a dry stick the next?” Why you ask? Because of its lack of usefulness, service, or helpfulness! In my economy, all living organisms function to produce and reproduce.
This tree was taking up valuable space in an already crowded world and its roots were taking in valuable nutrients out of the soil in addition to soaking up the sunshine and drinking in the rain, but it was not giving out! It was serving no purpose, yet it was draining resources. So, I removed it by speaking to it directly! Fear, poverty, insecurity, sickness, and disease – anything negative takes up time, space, and energy without producing positive results. Speak to the fear to go in Jesus’ name! Speak to the poverty to go, the curse is broken from your life. Fear and poverty must exit your life! They are not welcome. Go now to drylands and never return, fear and poverty in the holy name of Jesus. Open your mouth and speak to it and command fear and poverty to wither up and die!
I promise to prune and cut away everything in you that is not useful, helpful, or of service! (John 15:2) If it doesn’t have a benefit nor has a purpose, I will prune you and cut it off. Focus on the areas of your life that are fruitful and productive for I have a great plan for you! (Jeremiah 29:11-13) Just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions. (Matthew 7:20 KJV) What is standing in your way or blocking you? Speak to it!
