Praying for the Sick with Results
1. If you are praying for the sick, lay your hands on them and declare their deliverance from a spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name.
Jesus said, ‘in My name, believers shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
(Mark 16:17-18)
These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”
Lay your hands on the sick and expect God to hear you and heal them. Declare their healing for you are standing on solid ground.
Jesus always asked two questions before he prayed for anyone:
1. What do you want?
2. Do you believe if I pray for you – you will be healed?
It was about that time that the mother of the Zebedee brothers came with her two sons and knelt before Jesus with a request. “What do you want?” Jesus asked. (Matthew 20:20-21)
So, Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. .” And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So, Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. (Mark 10:49-52)
Jesus modeled for us how to lay hands on the sick and them recover.
I love Proverbs 3:16 because it says:
Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor.
When you pray for the sick use your right hand to lay hands on them.
If you are praying for finances and honor (integrity, righteousness, character) use your left hand the hand your wedding ring is on.
And pray according to (John 16:23-24)
“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
Example: When I pray for someone, I pray like this:
Father God, I come boldly before your throne, and I lift up _____________ and I ask you to touch him/her heal him/her and make him/her whole. Touch them now from the crown of their head to the soles of their feet in Jesus’ all-powerful name. Amen.
You can pray and get powerful results when you pray when you lay hands on the sick. Ask them the questions Jesus asked.
