How Do You Want This Year to Look?
Whatsoever you say, you shall have it. (Mark 11:24 KJV)
Precious one, I usually start my New Year out fasting for twenty-one days doing the Daniel Fast, eating only fruits, vegetables, and nuts. This year the Holy Spirit nudged me to do something different. I believe God is doing a New Thing, and it doesn’t look like the past! The Holy Spirit said, ‘stop making the launching of your year a ritual!’ Fast only as the Holy Spirit leads you. I believe that God is calling many to intermittent fasting. What is that? It means fasting one or two meals a day. When the Jews fast, they fast from sunset to sunset. They eat a meal, fast the first two meals of the day, and eat dinner. The Holy Spirit is whispering to me is to ‘fast your thoughts and words!’ I read two powerful books, ‘As a Man Thinkith’ by James Allen; I read it once and listened to it on audible.com four times. The second book is ‘The 40 Day Word Fast’ by Tim Cameron. After reading these two books, I knew the Holy Spirit was saying, ‘Do a thought and word fast!’ Why are my thoughts and words so critical? Everything begins with a thought! What you think about you bring about, and what you speak into the atmosphere does manifest.
Every thought you meditate on, and every word you speak will happen. I have broken some thought and word curses! Mark 11:25 says whatsoever you say; you shall have it. Be it negative or positive; you will have what you say. What you think about will become what you talk about. Luke 6:45 says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. What you are meditating on goes down in your heart and comes out your mouth! Get the picture?  Change your thinking, and you will change your world!
2020 kept me praying and interceding for many people who contacted me to pray for them because they struggled with anxiety, panic, and not sleeping. The root of anxiety and panic is a spirit of fear. It all begins with a thought. Your thoughts will get bigger and bigger until they keep you up at night. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 says, ‘for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Stop meditating on your situation and meditate on the Word of God, especially at night.
Joshua 1:7-9 gives us this command: ‘Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.” God commanded you to meditate on the Word of God day and night, not your thoughts! I challenge you to meditate on the Word of God day and night, not your thoughts. When the enemy attacks your mind and thoughts wander, take authority over it, repent, and get back on track. Prayerfully consider fasting your thoughts and your words this month! Think about what you want your year to look like and begin to speak it out loud every day!
Pray this with me:
Father God, I confess before I know it, I am thinking about my situation, and worry comes upon me and escalates to anxiety. Please forgive me. I know this is a spiritual battle. I take authority and dominion over my thoughts and fears; I command them to bow to the Holy Name of Jesus. Fear you must bow, thoughts I command you to meditate on the Word of God day and night in Jesus name. I place a demand on every delivering, healing, and restoring scripture in the Word of God and apply it to my life. Father, I have put my trust in You alone, show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life in the all-powerful name of Jesus. (Psalms 143:8) Amen.
