8 Character Traits to Achieve Your Dreams
and Reach Your Goals
Beloved one, have You lost hope for the future? Hosea 4:6 says, without a vision people perish. Pray and ask God to give you a vision of your future. He will. Vision and purpose are exciting to the soul. It will get you up early and keep you up late! If you are reading this, that means you are still breathing – God has a plan for you, but you must pursue Him to find out what it is!
5. Ability – Vision establishes ability and competence.
Moses had a habit of saying, ‘I can’t, I’m not, choose someone else. He pleaded with God saying, ‘I’m not good with words, I’ve never spoken publicly, and I stutter. “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear, or do not hear, see, or do not see? It’s the Lord! Now go, and I will be with you and give you the words to say. (Exodus 4:10-12)
6. Courage – Vision establishes courage!
When God called Moses, He ignored the fact that he was young, and tongue-tied, and gave him courage. Moses went, and he got the vision of what God wanted him to do.
7. Boldness – Vision establishes boldness.
After Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, thus saying to the Lord God of Israel – Let My people go something changed in Moses. (Exodus 5:1) He started out saying, ‘Let God’s people go, but he changed it to’ Let My People Go!’ What happened? Vision establishes boldness. Moses is not the same man who argued with God that he wasn’t a speaker, and he stuttered. Holy boldness came upon him, and it will you too when you get the vision God has for you.
8. Perseverance – Vision establishes perseverance and determination.
Moses became tenacious! God instructed him to approach Pharaoh and tell him to ‘Let My people go!’ and Pharaoh wouldn’t. Moses said again, ‘Let My people go!’ And Pharaoh would not. He continued going back again and again. What happened to Moses? The vision established a Don’t Quit attitude! Moses finally won! Once he recaptured the dream, perseverance was established, and Moses seized the dream God had given him.
All these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans are cheering for you. It’s time to get with it! Strip down, start running and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, whom both began and finished this race. Study how He did it. Because He never lost sight of where He was headed-that exhilarating finish in and with God-Jesus could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. So now He’s in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves weakening in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long list of hostility He plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! (Hebrews 12:1-3)
Everyone has a purpose in life!  God expects you to fulfill your assignment, but you must have the patience to carry it out just like Moses. You have what it takes! Isn’t it time to recapture your dream? When you were born, God deposited a gift inside you called purpose. Go back to the basics of God’s Word and allow the Word to stir up that gift inside. Don’t settle for a life with no meaning, no goals, no vision, and no purpose. You know you are here on this earth for a purpose. Find out what that purpose is, then go for it! Don’t let go of your dreams!
