Miracles for Today
And there in front of Him was a man who had dropsy (extreme swelling). Then He took hold of the man and healed him and sent him on his way. (Luke 14:2,4 Amplified Bible)
My beloved child, do you have challenges with swelling in your hands, feet, ankles, legs, or arms? I was helping my daughter care for her Dad in his final days here on earth; he was struggling with fluid build on his lungs and swelling in his limbs and feet. Suddenly, God shined the light of the Holy Spirit on this scripture. As I studied it, I was wowed! Do you have a loved one who has dropsy? I have great news for you! Dropsy in Greek is another name for edema, the abnormal swelling of tissues from a fluid buildup. Dropsy sounds like it might be suggesting the “drooping” of swollen tissue, but in fact, it was formed from Latin and Middle English alterations of the Greek noun hydrōps, from the noun hydōr, meaning “water.”
One day on the Sabbath, he went for a meal at the house of one of the ruling Pharisees; they watched Him closely and carefully [hoping to trap Him]. (Luke 14:1) And right there in front of Him was a man who had dropsy (extreme swelling). (Luke 14:2) And Jesus asked the lawyers and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?” (Luke 14:3) They kept silent. Then He took hold of the man and healed him and sent him on his way. (Luke 14:4) Then He said to them, “Which one of you, having a son or an ox that falls into a well, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?” (Luke 14:5) They were unable to reply. (Luke 14:6) Dropsy is one of the miracles of Jesus in the Gospels. He can heal abnormal swelling in your body. Spirit of infirmity specifically dropsy I command you to go in Jesus’ name. I speak to my body, and I say body, you must get in alignment with the Word of God. By faith, be thou made whole in Jesus all-powerful name!
Lay hands on your body and pray with me:
Father God, we boldly come before the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) On the authority of the Word of God, I speak to dropsy/edema/water retention, and I command you spirit of infirmity – leave my body. The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is operating in me. (Romans 6:10-11) I am not moved by what I see; I walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) Father God, I trust you as Jehovah Rophe, the Great Physician, to heal me. I declare and decree on the authority of the Word of God, and by my faith in Jesus’ righteous, holy name, I am healed. Edema, go Now in the all-powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
