Look Up
Beloved one fix your eyes on Jesus and not your circumstances. We get unstuck by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. (Hebrews 12:2)
Several years ago, I was diagnosed with a severe case of shingles around my left eye and ear. I lost my sight and hearing and was confined to bed for three months, doctor’s orders. Shingles are extremely painful. I am a go-getter, but I was shut down. The Holy Spirit gently whispered to me to pray for the needs of others and not focus on my situation. Looking back, I can tell you God turned it around for my good and His glory. (Romans 8:28) He clearly said, ‘it’s not about you!’ I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray for others’ needs not focused on me and miracles began happening! (Colossians 1:9-12) Prayers were answered as I lay in bed recovering. God had a purpose for me during my recovery to pray for others who needed a miracle!
Refocus your vision and look up! I always know when I am confined to bed and cannot go – God is trying to say something to me, and I need to listen. What is God saying to you?
