Keep the Fire Burning Bright!
Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. (Habakkuk 2:2-3 NIV)
Beloved, fire is a consuming force that, when ignited, will intensify and grow. As you allow God to ignite within you His vision for your future, it will increase and develop until it completely consumes your being. A dream or vision needs to be ignited, and fuel poured on it to keep it burning, which is the same as with a fire. God will ignite a dream in your heart, but you must continually add fuel to keep it alive, and that only comes from the Word of God. There will be opportunities for people, obstacles, and even yourself to throw water on the dream to snuff it out; however, you must continually protect and feed your dream until it comes to pass.
What is your dream? Write the vision! Write down what you see in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what is to come. It aches for the coming – it can hardly wait! Also, it doesn’t lie; even if it is slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will surely come to pass and right on time! (Habakkuk 2:2-3) You must be determined to keep the dream alive! Where there is no (dream) vision, people perish! (Proverbs 29:18) People without a vision are non-productive, and they lose hope! What a tragedy to let go of your vision and have no motivation or drive within – no fire, merely existing!
God created you and called you for a purpose. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) Find out what that is through the Word of God! Smith Wigglesworth’s ministry was based on four principles we can apply to our own life:
1. Read the Word of God
2. Consume the Word of God until it consumes you.
3. Believe the Word of God
4. Act on the Word of God
These principles, when applied to your life, will keep you focused and on fire for God. Try it, and rid yourself of oppression, depression, anxiety, or fear. The Word of God has the power to heal, restore, and create the vision God has for you.
Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, God knew you, loved you, and planned every day of your life from the end to the beginning! (Jeremiah 1:5) You have a birth date, and expiration date, and between those two dates is a significant timeline for you to accomplish what you were created to do. Once you know what to do, then stir up your faith! (2 Timothy 1:6-7) You add fuel to the fire by continually refreshing yourself with scriptures. Go out of your way to spend time in God’s presence and stir yourself up with faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. You have got to hear something. (Romans 10:17) It is easy to become complacent, but you have to hunger for more of God’s Word, hunger for your dream to be fulfilled. Don’t settle for a life with no purpose! God has chosen you as a catalyst to use for His glory and honor to make His name famous on the earth. Jesus said, ‘when you hunger and thirst, you shall be filled!’ (Matthew 5:6) God is waiting on you to get the fire back in your life and hunger to see the dream fulfilled.
