How to Recognize You Are Being Spiritually Attacked
Part 1.
Beloved one, you may not know it, but there are 5 signs you are under the attack of Satan. The enemy wants to wear you out so you will quit serving God, but this is the time to increase your time in prayer, intercession, and praying in the spirit doing battle against the enemy. God reminds us in His Word to be conscious and aware of Satan’s schemes and wicked plans against us (Ephesians 6:10-12) and stay close to God. Come near to God and He will come near to you! (James 4:8) God gives us specific instructions in His Word – we already have everything we need to overcome. We are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony. (Revelations 12:11) You already have the victory over the battlefield of your mind, heart, and soul. Do not meditate on the thoughts the devil plants in your mind, instead speak the Word only. (Joshua 1:7-9) Spiritual warfare is not giving the devil attention, it’s taking authority over the enemy and putting him under our feet. (Romans 6:20) Focus your attention on the Father and speaking the Word.
Here are five examples from scripture to help you know and understand you are in a battle:
1. A sudden or extreme onslaught of troubles, losses, and trials.
Satan is ruthless when it comes to attacking believers. The attack comes out of nowhere. In fact, when you are attacked you feel like you have been soccer punched in the gut. Job’s life is a good example of what this may be like in (Job 1-2). He was innocent and yet God gave the devil permission to touch Job because He was confident Job would remain faithful to Him. Satan destroyed all his belongings, his children, and his cattle in a day, yet he remained faithful, and, in the end, God gave him double for all his trouble. (Job 42:9-12)
2. Attacks of physical illness, life-threatening loss, or physical loss.
The enemy wants nothing more than to steal, kill and destroy you, but God has come to give you life more abundantly. (John 10:10) He is a thief and a robber! He’s short, ugly, and toothless and all he can do is make a loud noise – roar! He wants to silence your voice, don’t allow him to do that. The minute you open your mouth, he is defeated! Have you ever experienced a near-death experience, a sudden and terrible illness? I have, more than once, and God intervened because He has a plan for you and me. So many examples in the Bible such as Daniel in the lion’s den. (Daniel 6) His attackers thought for sure he would be gone by morning, but God. No matter what you are going through, God is still in the business of doing miracles and we are in a miracle season! Stand strong in faith, pray, and speak the Word!
