Hope
My child, do you have a vision of the future? If not, I encourage you to pray and ask God what plans He has planned for your future. Be prepared for Him to show you. He will if you ask! People become hopeless and want to give up when they do not have a plan or a vision of the future. It’s essential that you have something to get about. Without a vision, people perish. (Proverbs 29:18) We are instructed to ‘Write the vision/dream, and make it plain upon tablets or billboards, so that he may run that reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it shall speak, and not lie, ‘though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.’ (Habakkuk 2:2-3)
If you don’t think God has a plan for you in your seventies and eighties, may I remind you that God spoke to Abraham when he was seventy-five to pack up and move away from his family to another land and his family was not welcome to go? (Genesis 12:1-9) He obeyed and didn’t know where he was going. His instruction was, ‘Trust God and Go!’ God was calling him to a complete separation from his past and everything he held dear. (Genesis 12:5) Twenty-four years before Sarah conceived and had a son, they moved away from family to a new land. (Genesis 18:11) Even though Sarah was barren and beyond the years of conception, she believed God and gave birth to a son by faith. (Genesis 21:2) Why? Because God had plans for Abraham and Sarah, and He has plans for you, but you must ask God what they are, then write them down.
Don’t give up! Don’t lose sight of the purpose God has for your future. He will make a way where there seems to be no way. (Genesis 22:9-14) He has promised you that He has a plan for your life; it’s for good and not for evil, to give you a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) God is not a man that He should lie. (Number 23:19) When you become hopeless, it makes your heart sick. (Proverbs 13:12) You become hopeless when you do not have plans or a vision for your future. We all need something to get excited about! It’s called a vision! Make plans today! Ask God to show you what He desires for you to do! God has great plans for you!
