Your Point of Contact
Precious child, having a point-of-contact is important. Your point-of-contact is anything God may instruct you to do, to stretch you and release your faith. Many years ago, I was sitting in a meeting in Tulsa, Oklahoma and God spoke to me very clearly to sow three precious seeds in two different ministries and I must be real – I cried! It hurt me to sow them, that’s how you know it’s a precious seed. One was my baby grand piano, another was a $1000 (that I didn’t have – I sowed by faith), and the other was sowing or releasing three spiritual sons and daughters because I needed a long sabbatical to heal and restore. The miracles that came from my obedience were amazing! The Holy Spirit clearly spoke to me the ministry I was to sow my baby grand in. Little did I know that piano was sold to pay for airtime in a non-Christian country to reach lost souls.
Within a few weeks, God spoke to someone at my grandchildren’s school to pay for their tuition in a Christian private school they had been in since pre-school, which was to the tune of $300,000 by the time they graduated. Someone else sowed $50,000 to re-launch Empowering Int’l Ministries and then not only did God bring my spiritual sons and daughters back, today I have many spiritual sons and daughters across the United States. Those three precious seeds were my point of contact to release my faith for what God had for my future and my family and me I. Literally, I exchanged the little I had for the greater thing that God had for us! Each was my point of contact.
Remember the prayer handkerchiefs from the body of Paul? Luke documented, ”God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them, and the evil spirits went out.” (Acts 19:11-12) These handkerchiefs and aprons were likely “sweat rags” that you wrapped around your head or waist.
The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works. (2 Corinthians 12:12) For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ. (Romans 15:18-19).
Luke even documented that these were “extraordinary” miracles. Why did God use this method of miracles in Ephesus? God must have especially worked through Paul’s garments because he was in Ephesus, where the occult practice was common. Since this was the case, God must have wanted to show His authority over these practices by giving Paul unique powers over the occult. God used this so powerfully for evangelistic purposes in a place that was oppressed by occult bondage. Elsewhere, we see modeled for God’s miraculous working in this way. For instance, Jesus healed people through his garments (Luke 8:44), and Peter healed people through his shadow (Acts 5:15). God can use the simplest objects (or people!) to accomplish his work. The Israelites obeyed God’s command to walk around the walls of Jericho. The widow of Zarephath planted her food as a Seed into the ministry of Elijah. Your point-of-contact is any act of obedience that proves your faith in God. It is unexplainable, yet powerful. So, simply do whatever God tells you to do today.
