God Never Changes His Mind
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved you and your household.” (Acts 16:31 NIV)
My precious child, I want to encourage you if you have a child, a grandson/granddaughter or great-grandson/granddaughter, or a member of your family who has made many mistakes, and they’re not living for the Lord. The Lord has not changed His mind about their future. Pray and intercede for them and for goodness’ sake, ‘don’t give up!’ The Philistines oppressed the Israelites for 40 years. Manoah and his wife couldn’t have children, and one day, she had a divine encounter. The angel of the Lord said, ‘”Even though you’ve been unable to have children, you will soon become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must not drink wine or any other alcoholic drink nor eat any forbidden food. When you give birth to your son, his hair must never be cut, and dedicate him to God as a Nazirite from birth. He will begin to rescue Israel from the Philistines.” (Judges 13:1-5) She ran and told her husband Manoah, he prayed and asked God to confirm His Word. Manoah asked what kind of rules should govern this boy’s life and work? The angel of the Lord said, ‘”Be sure your wife follows the instructions I gave her. She must not eat grapes or raisins, drink wine, or any other alcoholic drink, or eat any forbidden food.” (Judges 13:6-14) When the baby was born, they named him Samson. They were godly parents – continually prophesying his future over his life. Samson was a blessed man, but everywhere he went, he left a mess! (Judges 13:24-25)
When Samson was around the age of twenty years old, he told his dad and mom a Philistine woman had caught his eye, get her for me. (Judges 14:1-2) His parents said no, “Isn’t there one woman among all the Israelites you could marry? Why must you go to the pagan Philistines to find a wife?” Samson said, ‘she looks good to me!’ He married her! (Judges 14:3-4) His Dad said, ‘We love our son, but we do not support his decisions – however, we support our son!’ The marriage lasted seven days, she betrayed him, she turned to his best friend and Samson went back home with his parents! (Judges 14:19-20 – Judges 15:1-2) The Word of God is very clear, ‘do not unequally yoked with an unbeliever. For what partnership (marriage or business) have with wickedness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?’
He was continuously fighting the Philistines – one night he caught 300 foxes and tied their tails together and set them on fire running through the grain fields of the Philistines – he burned all their grain to the ground, the sheaves, the uncut grain, destroyed their vineyards and olive groves. When the Philistines discovered what he had done, they sent 3000 Philistines to capture him. They tied him up and took him to Lehi shouting in triumph, (Judges 15:6-14) then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Samson, and he snapped the ropes in two, and he killed 1000 Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey. (Judges 15:15-17)
If God can use Samson to kill the Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey, He can use anyone and anything! Don’t give up on your loved one!
