God Has a Plan for Your Child
Later, when the boy was older, his mother brought him back to Pharaoh’s daughter, who adopted him as her own son. The princess named him Moses, for she explained, “I lifted him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:10 NLT)
Do you have a child that seems at a young age the enemy has tried to take out? Pray! Let me encourage you today to fight for their lives in the spirit realm. (Ephesians 6:12) The enemy will attack a child’s health or end up in jail or prison, or setbacks – because they are a threat to the kingdom of darkness. Pray and do warfare on their behalf. Cancel the assignment the enemy has against them. (Isaiah 54:17) The enemy is trying to stop God’s plan, but he can’t. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) If they are behind bars, God is building their character so they can handle the assignment ahead. Remember Joseph spent thirteen long years in prison. (Genesis 41:46) During that time, God was preparing him to be second in command in the nation of Egypt. (Genesis 41:37-46)
God prepared and established Moses. He was God’s man for the hour. The purpose of Moses’ life was to lead the Jews out of slavery. They had been in slavery for hundreds of years, and his assignment was to God’s chosen people into the Promised Land, which He had sent a deed for them to own. It was Moses’ purpose! What is your purpose? Pharaoh gave this order to all the people of Egypt: ‘throw every newborn Hebrew boy into the Nile River, but the girls could live!’ (Exodus 1:22) About this time, a man and woman from the tribe of Levi had gotten married. The woman became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She saw that he was a special baby and kept him hidden for three months. (Exodus 2:1-2) The enemy tried to take him out at a young age. Again, if the enemy comes to take your child out, it’s because of the anointing. Cover them in prayer!
I have an anointed stepson who was facing prison time. He was hanging out with the wrong people at the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up in jail facing prison time. I was not moved by the judge’s threats saying, ‘this boy is going to prison for seventeen years!’ I spent two hours a day praying for him for four months. Then one day, while sitting in a jail cell, the judge went on a two-week vacation. His attorney swooped him up, and he went before the judge who was presiding during those two weeks. This judge said, ‘son, I don’t know why I am doing this, but I am putting you on probation for five years because I believe you are a good kid! Don’t ever come before me again, or you will go to prison! But God!
When she could no longer hide him, she made a waterproof basket, put the baby in it, and laid it in the reeds along the Nile. The baby’s sister Miriam stood at a distance, watching to see what would happen to him. (Exodus 2:3-4) Pharaoh’s daughter was bathing in the Nile, saw the basket and asked her attendants to bring it to her. She opened it, and the baby was crying. Miriam, Moses’ sister, approached the princess. “Should I go and find one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?” “Yes, do,” the princess replied! (Exodus 2:5, 7-8) She brought her mother to the princess. The princess told the baby’s mother, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I’ll pay you for your help.” So, the woman took her baby home and nursed him.
God had a plan for this baby’s life, and God has a plan for your child’s life. After Moses’ was weaned, she presented him to Pharaoh’s daughter, who adopted him as her son. She named him Moses meaning pulled-out, saying, “I pulled him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:10) In the first forty years of his life, Moses grew up he got the best education anyone could have. He was trained in the military and had an understanding of the world. He was a somebody, a prince for forty years! God was preparing him for his future. Moses wrote the Ten Commandments and the book of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. (Exodus 17:14, 24:4, 34:27, Leviticus 1:1, 6:8, Deuteronomy 31:9, 31:24-26, and Joshua 1:7-8) How many people do you believe in that day could write? The first forty years of Moses’ life was a season of preparation for his future. What is God preparing you to do? When you are in the season of preparation, give it all you’ve got to learn all you can. God has a plan and a purpose for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
