Jehovah El Shaddai
My Child, I am Almighty God, you’re El-Shaddai! El-Shaddai means God Almighty, the all-powerful and all-sufficient one. Nothing is too difficult for Me. (Jeremiah 32:17) I have chosen to use weak ones like you to accomplish My purposes. Human strength can’t begin to compete with My weakness. Look at who you were when you were called into this life. I don’t see many of the brightest and best among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that I deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these nobodies to expose the hollow pretensions of the somebodies? That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before Me. Everything that you have right thinking and right living, a clean slate, and a fresh start—comes from Me by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the saying, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God.” (1 Corinthians 1:25-31)
Your weakness is designed to open you up to My Power. Paul said, I wouldn’t get a big head if I were you, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around all high and mighty! At first, I didn’t think of it as a gift and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so, the weaker I get, the stronger I become. (2 Corinthians 12:8-10 Message)
Don’t fear your limitation of the day’s demands against your strength. You must stay connected to Me, living in complete trust and dependence on my limitless resources. When you face unexpected demands, there’s no need to panic – run into My rest, the strong tower of El Shaddai – that peaceful place where nothing rocks your world. (Proverbs 18:10) Talk to Me! I am ready to listen. I am not a careless God! When I allow difficulties to come, I equip you fully to handle them. Relax and be at peace in My presence for nothing is impossible with Me! (Luke 1:37)
