Fifty Days that Changed the World
My beloved child, Passover to Pentecost, is the fifty days that changed the world. We are in one of the holiest seasons of the year where the most miracles happen from Passover to Pentecost. I do not know what you need, but God does. Stop what you are doing right now and ask God for your miracle. Jesus was on the earth for forty days. Note this: the disciples did not recognize Jesus after the resurrection. Early Sunday morning after the resurrection of Jesus, Mary Magdalene was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stooped and looked in. She saw two white-robed angels, one sitting at the head and the other at the foot of the place where the body of Jesus had been lying. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” the angels asked her. “Because they have taken away my Lord,” she replied, “and I don’t know where they have put Him.” She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize Him. (John 20:11-14)
That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” He said. As He spoke, He showed them the wounds in His hands and His side. Then, they were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! (John 20:19-20) Jesus had to show the disciples His hands and His side before they believed it was Him. Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” He said. Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Put your hand into the wound in My side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” (John 20:26-27)
Jesus was walking and talking with the disciples for hours on the road to Emmaus. They sat down to eat, and He took the bread and blessed it. He broke the bread into pieces and passed it around. Suddenly the disciples recognized Him, and He vanished. (Luke 24:28-32) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. (2 Corinthians 5:16-18) Jesus said to the disciples, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so I am sending you.” Then He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. (John 20:19-22)
