Faith is not a Feeling
All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don’t believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don’t believe what God has testified about his Son. (1 John 5:10 NLT)
My child, faith is not a feeling; it’s a knowing – your emotions can deceive you. Many people go by their feelings and not by faith; it is the reason many will be deceived in the last days. The enemy is a thief and has one purpose, and that is to destroy you. (John 10:10) If you don’t study the Word of God and know first-hand the truth, you can easily be deceived and destroyed. When you came to Christ, He found you in the world, and He picked you up, cleaned you off, and there was a witness in your spirit you were no longer the same. That is because it was by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourself; it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Faith has substance! Faith means being sure of the things you hope for and knowing that something is real even if you do not see it yet. (Hebrews 11:1) Faith is a confident knowing! The Word of God will quicken your spirit with the Word of truth and increase your faith.
How do you increase your faith? Faith comes by hearing – and hearing by the Word of God! (Romans 10:17) You increase your faith by listening to the Word of God. The more you read the Word of God and listen – the more your faith will increase. Listen to the Scriptures with focused attention. Faith calls those things that be not as though they were. (Romans 4:17) It is having confidence what you hope for will happen. Faith prophecy’s the future. You cannot please God if you do not have faith. (Hebrews 11:6) We are instructed to walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) Each of us is made in the image and likeness of God. (Genesis 1:27) His very nature is in you creating life, immortality, and power. The power of the living Word of the alive Christ is in you as you read and study scripture. His Word is the bread of the Son of God. Feed on the Word of God, hide it in your heart, and your faith will escalate.
