Dream Focused
Patient endurance is what you need now so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. (Hebrews 10:36 NLT)
My child between the dream and its fulfillment there will be many tests along the way. Joseph faced many trials and challenges before his vision became visible. He was thrown in a pit, and sold into slavery, (rejected, abandoned, betrayed, and all alone) Potiphar’s wife lied to her husband and falsely accused him and he was thrown in prison (innocent and forgotten) before he was promoted to being second in command in the nation of Egypt.
There are many things you can learn from My servant Joseph:
1. Don’t tell your dreams to everyone – some people will do everything they can to keep you from fulfilling your destiny and purpose.
2. Joseph shared his dream with the wrong people – his family and it angered his brothers they sold him into slavery for two coins each and they convinced Jacob their father Joseph was dead.
3. It cost Joseph – he ended up at Potiphar’s house and ended up in prison (innocent) for thirteen long years. (Genesis 38:1-20)
4. He had a dream, and he never lost sight of the vision no matter what adversity he experienced. (Genesis 37:1-11, Habakkuk 2:2-3)
5. I gave him great favor because he kept his heart pure.
6. He kept a positive attitude: he said if I must be in prison – I am going to be the best prisoner they have.
7. He never tried to defend himself, and he kept his mouth shut.
8. He served others and did it with excellence – even while he was in prison. He served others as unto Me.
9. He realized all he had walked through was just part of his process or journey.
10. Though he was hated by his family – he forgave his brothers and fed them during the time of famine.
11. He passed the test of Faith, and he learned to be Patient.
12. He learned to endure to the end. He passed the Strength, Endurance Test, and He determined to remain focused on the main thing, the vision I gave Him. (Hebrews 10:36)
For a long season, it appeared as if Joseph’s critics were right. With an unearned criminal record, he was promoted because he remained steadfast and confident that I gave him his dream, so it must be possible! (Jeremiah 29:11) With enough baggage to derail a freight train, he remained focused without dwelling on the challenges he faced. Joseph maintained a ‘Dream-Focus’ – it was his salvation! Are you focusing on the situation you are facing or are you ‘Dream-Focused?’
