Don’t Look Back
My precious child, I cover you and your own criticism, blame, and nagging disrespect but I would have you let it go! Look closely at My Disciple Peter’s life – he wouldn’t have done My work, nor would he have had the courage to live a daring life for Me if it was not for the Love of the Father. I wrapped Peter in tender Love daily. Love Covers! Love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8) I didn’t get angry with him because he had a temper, and he was a hot head. I had to go behind him in love and clean up the consequences of his anger such as putting an ear back on the Roman soldier after he cut it off. (John 18:10-11) I poured out the gentle tender Love of the Father on him.
Did I need to protect myself from the rejection, resentment, and disrespect of My enemies? No! (Matthew 26:67) However, I protected him from the hatred of himself and you My follower who truly desires to be strong and courageous, yet you experience shame, remorse, and dislike of yourself, and you criticize yourself. In your own weakness, (2 Corinthians 12:9-11) because you do not see yourself the way I see you, I protect you with a shield of tender Love. You too would not have the courage to fight and overcome if it were not for the tender Love of the Father.
I created you in My own image! (Psalms 139:1-4) The more intimate you are with Me and the more you die to your flesh the more you will look like Me. You will begin to see yourself the way I see you. When you are transparent you will face your true self-shame and remorse – this is the first phase of development. I am preparing you to fly! Of what use would the butterflies’ wings be if they remained earthbound and carrying the weight of its disgraceful past? So, I say to you this day, ‘Do Not dwell for a moment on the sins of your past. Remember not the former things nor consider the things of old! Behold right now at this very moment I am doing a New Thing. Do you not perceive it and know it?’ (Isaiah 43:18-19)
You must be like one who runs in a race, who stumbles and falls yet he rises again, pressing toward the goal – the prize! (Philippians 3:13-14) What good will it do a runner if he gets up and examines the place where he fell – or if he weeps because he was shortsighted and didn’t see the obstacle in his path? So, it is with you this day: ‘Don’t Look Back or you will trip over your future!’ Give it your best and make the most of this new day! (Philippians 4:13) I sent My disciples out two by two, to be led by the Spirit. (Luke 10:1) On life’s journey throw everything away that’s not important. Cast aside all hindrances of the past, a sense of failure, and all the imperfections of others. (Matthew 11:28-30) Travel with a light heart, which means a weight of influence. Lift Me up everywhere you go, and I will give you the words to say. Just be obedient and I will draw all men unto Me! (John 12:32)
