Change Your Attitude About Your Circumstances
Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I wasn’t even aware of it!” (Genesis 28:16 BSB)
My child, one of the first things you will have to do is change your perspective of your situation. Your circumstances may have been challenging – but God can turn your pain into purpose and your scars into stars! Consider Jacob – he had a dream in his most painful hour, and suddenly he had an attitude adjustment. He changed his mindset towards his pain. His encounter with God changed his perception of his circumstances and caused his mouth to become prophetic. He had to take control of what he said, ”O Lord, guard my lips. (Psalms 141:3) He began prophesying about his future. (Psalms 141:3) He said, ”surely the Lord is in this place, and I wasn’t even aware of it. (Genesis 28:16-17) What an awesome place this is!” Then he began to call his place of pain by its God-given name – ”Bethel” (the House of God). You prophesy your future every day by what you say. Set a watch at the door of your lips and be careful what you say, for you will reap a harvest, whether good or bad. What are you saying about your life and your future? You shall have what you say! Whatever you say, you shall surely have it. (Mark 11:23-24)
