Biblical Finances
My child it may seem strange to learn that I the Lord your God care about money. I talked about it 2350 times in scriptures in the Bible – It must be important to Me and should be important to you. Though I am not subject to money, I know that you are – at least while you are living here in this world it requires money to live. However, you are not of this world – because it is I the Lord your God who gives you the power to get wealth! (Deuteronomy 8:18) Money is not the root of evil, No! It’s the LOVE of MONEY that is the root of all – evil! (1 Timothy 6:10) My word has good instructions about staying out of debt, tithing, and saving. (Proverbs 13:11) I give plain instruction in my Word on how money is to be used:
1. You must first give before you receive. (Luke 6:38)
2. Be a cheerful and joyful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT)
3. Bless others who are in need. (2 Corinthians 9:6-15)
a. Widows and orphans. (James 1:27)
b. Single mothers raising their children without the help of their dad, or the father is deceased. (Isaiah 54:5)
c. Homeless or those who are struggling and downtrodden. (Galatians 2:10, Luke 3:11)
4. Give your tithes and offerings (this is a seed) and sow into good fertile soil by giving to the support of My work to spread the Good News. (Malachi 3:8-12)
5. Save and invest (a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s Children. (Proverbs 13:22)
Being wise with money (not a spendthrift) is My vote for your future. These are patterns you should put into practice in your life for the Blessing to be poured out on your family. I describe these blessings as ‘overflow blessings’ and I invite you to test Me and see if I will prove Myself!
