Betrayal
And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. (John 13:2-4 NKJV)

My beloved, let’s go back to the night Passover when Jesus My Son knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to come to Me, the Father, and sitting at the table with His inner circle – the twelve disciples knowing one would betray Him. (John 13:1) Supper had just ended, and the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Jesus. (John 13:2) In Greek, “put into” means “a swift action of throwing, thrusting, or injecting something forward.” If you knew someone close to you was about to betray you to the uttermost, how would you handle it? Jesus got up from the table and took off His robe, and wrapped a towel around His waist, he poured water in a basin, and he began to wash each of His disciples’ feet and dry them off with the towel from his waist. (John 13:5)
Before supper had ended, the devil had already grasped the opportunity to put a seed of betrayal in Judas’ heart. Never allow even a crack for the enemy to come in and seize you. He will move in at the speed of lightning to invade your mind and emotions to destroy a long-term trusted friend into a betrayer. It’s vital that you discern those times and not allow the enemy access to put a wedge between you and a close friend. It is the devil’s primary focus to destroy your relationship with those you love. It is especially true of these times we must submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
Take a stand and protect your relationships. Think about the relationships you have with trusted friends. Has there ever been a time the enemy has tried to come in and put a wedge in your relationship – especially with someone you dearly love? It is his determined focus to sow conflict and destroy those precious relationships. When this happens, you have a choice to make; you can either overlook what the person did to offend you or choose to let the offense penetrate the depths of your heart and make its home there, which will eventually impact your health and destroy you. Did you allow the enemy of your destiny to divide you, or do you have victory over it? Don’t let the enemy destroy precious relationships!
