Check Your Course
Beloved one, soon a fierce storm came, and high waves were breaking into the boat, soon it began to fill up with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly, the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. (Mark 4:37-39 NLT)
Beloved child there is never a day, there is never an hour, there is never a moment when you are outside My thoughts. As David said, ‘The Lord thinks about me, and I think about you. (Psalms 40:17) You can say this as surely as David could. You are no less dear to My heart, and I am equally concerned for you.
Do not take the path of folly, for My heart goes with you wherever you go; (Genesis 28:15) and I grieve over you when you are turned away from Me. You may not be going in the opposite direction; you may even be on a road that is quite parallel with the one I would have you to travel. But to be almost in the perfect will of God is to miss it completely.
As the Scripture says: ‘Other little boats were also with Him’ – but Jesus’ was in only one. (Mark 4:36) Check your course! Chart it by My Word and hold to it with firm determination and do not be led aside by the other ‘little boats.’
Be sure you are in the boat with Jesus if you hope to make it safely to the shore despite the storms. For there will be storms, but you will be safe if you abide close with Me. If you abide in Me and My Words abide in you, – you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! (John 15:7)
