Your Life Has Been Spared for a Purpose
Precious one, are you aware God has a purpose for your life? Almost a year ago, I had a terrible fall while I was out of state ministering. In the middle of the night, I fell and broke three ribs, which punctured my lungs, I ended up with double pneumonia and tore the rotator cuff in my right arm. Upon my return home, I was notified that one of my best friends of forty years had a terrible fall and died instantly. Two days later, my sister called and her massage therapist who had given us massages had a terrible fall and died instantly. At that moment, I knew God had spared my life. I was pretty banged up and it took six months to recover but I’m alive, and I knew God was not finished with me.
He still has a great purpose for me, and He has a purpose for you. In the middle of my recovery, my great-grandson gained his angel wings. No matter what you experience or how painful it is to bounce back, God still has a plan for you and me.
There was a man and woman from the tribe of Levi who got married. The woman became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She saw that he was a special baby and kept him hidden for three months. But when she could no longer hide him, she got a basket made of papyrus reeds and waterproofed it with tar and pitch. She put the baby in the basket and laid it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile River. The baby’s sister then stood at a distance, watching to see what would happen to him. (Exodus 2:1-4) Soon Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe in the river, and her attendants walked along the riverbank. (This was very unusual for the princess to come out and bathe in muddy water. It was divinely orchestrated by God, that’s divine!) Beloved one, there was a time when Pharaoh ordered the midwife when a baby boy was born to throw them in the Nile River. Because of the midwife’s fear of God, the Pharaoh then ordered the mothers when they gave birth to a son to throw him in the Nile River.
When the princess saw the basket among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it for her. When the princess opened it, she saw the baby. The little boy was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This must be one of the Hebrew children,” she said. Then the baby’s sister approached the princess. “Should I go and find one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?” she asked. “Yes, do!” the princess replied. (Exodus 2:5-8) So, the girl went and called the baby’s mother. “Take this baby and nurse him for me,” the princess told the baby’s mother. “I will pay you for your help.” So, the woman took her baby home and nursed him. Later, when the boy was older, his mother brought him back to Pharaoh’s daughter, who adopted him as her own son. The princess named him Moses, for she explained, “I lifted him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:9-10) (Moses means ‘drawn out.’ God saved Moses’ life because of the plan He had for him!) Think about this for a moment, ‘Has there ever been a time God saved your life?’
He has a divine purpose for you. You may not know what it is, but you know He saved your life. I can think of four times in my life, God had the perfect opportunity to take me, but I am still here – for a purpose! What about you? Moses was beautiful in God’s eyes. Pharoah’s daughter adopted, raised, and taught him the wisdom of the Egyptians and he became wise in both words and actions. (Acts 7:20-23) God had a purpose for Moses and He has a purpose for you!
