A Fight for Faith
Beloved one, do you know what ‘A Deborah Anointing’ is? Perhaps you have a Deborah anointing. Deborah, also spelled Debbora, prophet, and heroine in the Old Testament (Judges 4-5), who inspired the Israelites to a mighty victory over their Canaanite oppressors (the people who lived in the Promised Land, later Palestine, whom Moses spoke of before its conquest by the Israelites); the “Song of Deborah” (Judges 5) What is the Deborah Anointing? As in biblical times God is calling today’s women to a purpose greater than themselves. The Deborah Anointing shows you that although you may have been trapped in tradition and locked into captivity by cultural and gender prejudices, God desires for you to break through these barriers.
At this time there was a righteous and courageous prophetess, named Deborah, who was made a judge over all Israel because of her faith, her wisdom, her fairness, and her obedience to the Lord. She was deeply concerned over the ill-treatment of her people who were suffering at the hands of their Canaanite enemies. Digging Deeper we find out what kind of woman she was. Deborah was a busy woman. Judges 4:5 says, “She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.” Deborah was a woman of great wisdom, revelation, and discernment. She also prayed and interceded for Israel.
In answering the call, Deborah became a singular biblical figure: a female military leader. She recruited a man, General Barak, to stand by her side, telling him God wanted the armies of Israel to attack the Canaanites who were persecuting the highland tribes. Do you have a Deborah anointing? If you are an intercessor who prays for Israel, you surely have that same anointing.
