What is Hidden Will Eventually be Brought to Light
For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. (Mark 4:22 NKJV)
My child believe, and trust in Me, obey My commands, and I will always be there when you get in a mess. I am a faithful God, and I will not leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6) My hand is not slack concerning My promises, says the Lord. (2 Peter 3:9) During the onset of king Darius reign, he reorganized his kingdom into 120 provinces and appointed governors over each region. He set Daniel and two others to be administrators over the governors but soon decided to promote Daniel over the entire empire because of his great ability. (Daniel 6:1-3) The governors got together to find some old scandal or skeleton in Daniel’s life that they could use against him, but they couldn’t dig up anything. He was entirely exemplary and trustworthy. They could find no evidence of negligence or misconduct. So, they finally gave up and said, “We’re never going to find anything against this Daniel unless we can cook up something up.” (Daniel 6:4-5) The governors plotted together and then went to the king and said, “King Darius, live forever! We’ve convened your governors, and all your leading officials, and have agreed that the king should issue a decree: For the next thirty days, no one is to pray to any god or mortal except you, O king. Anyone who disobeys will be thrown into the lions’ den. “Issue this decree, and make it unconditional, as if written in stone like all the laws of the Medes and the Persians.” So, King Darius signed the decree. (Daniel 6:6-9)
When Daniel learned of the decree, he continued praying just like he had always done. Three times a day he would kneel and pray praise and thank his God. (Daniel 6:10) His conspirators found him praying in his room asking God for help, and they went to the king to remind him of this decree forbidding anyone to pray to a god other than Darius for 30 days. (Daniel 6:11-2) Then they said, “Daniel, one of the Jewish exiles, ignores you, O king, and defies your decree. Three times a day he prays. (Daniel 6:13) The king was distraught! He did everything he could to get Daniel out of the mess he put him in, to no avail. (Daniel 6:14) There was nothing else King Darius could do but to give the command for Daniel to be thrown in the lion’s den, but he told Daniel, your God to whom you are so loyal, is going to get you out of this. (Daniel 6:16)
The King couldn’t sleep all night. At daybreak he hurried to the lion’s den and cried out, ‘Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve so loyally, saved you from the lions?’ Daniel said O king live forever! God sent his angel, who closed the mouths of the lions so they would not hurt me. I’ve been found innocent before God and you. I’ve done nothing to harm you. (Daniel 6:20-22) When King Darius heard these words, he was so happy. He gave orders for Daniel to be removed from the den, and there was not a single scratch on him because he believed in and trusted God. (Daniel 6:23) King Darius ordered all the governors, their wives, and children to be thrown in the lion’s den and before they hit the ground, the lions had them in their mouths and tore them to pieces. (Daniel 6:24) The King made a new decree that Daniel’s God would be worshipped and feared in all his kingdom. (Daniel 6:25-27) God will cause the hidden things of darkness to be brought to light clearly for all to see. (Mark 4:22) You will reap what you have sown. (Galatians 6:6-9) Continue walking in godly character, and God will vindicate you. (Psalms 26:1) What is hidden in darkness will eventually come to light.
