Jehovah El Elyon
My precious child, I am the Most-High God Jehovah El-Elyon, and all other gods will bow to the name of My Son Jesus Christ, the Messiah. (Romans 14:11) Elyon is always translated as “Most High.” When preceded by “El,” the Hebrew word for God, it is translated “God Most High.” In the New Testament, the Greek equivalent to Most High is used nine times. The name or title “Elyon” emphasizes God’s uniqueness and His supremacy above all others. Jehovah El Elyon, the Most-High God, is loving and merciful. (1 John 4:8, 16) The Most-High God is not slack concerning His promises; He is long-suffering, not willing that anyone should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance and know Him as Lord and Savior. (2 Peter 3:9)
In kindness, He will take you firmly by the hand and lead you into a radical life change. (Romans 2:4) His Love is the power that will transform the world. Not just your Love for Christ, or those who are dear to you, but His Love for all sinners draws them to Him. (Romans 2:4) Allow the Most-High God to love the unlovable through you! Love makes up for practically anything. Love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:11) Love will melt a person’s heart toward Christ. Love is the only weapon that will drive out sin! His name Jehovah El Elyon the Most-High God reveals His character – He is loving, kind, and merciful!
King Melchizedek was the priest of the Most-High God. (Genesis 14:18) Abram lifted up his hands unto the Lord, the Most-High God possessor of heaven and earth. (Genesis 14:22) He is Jehovah El Elyon twelve times in the Old Testament and a total of thirty-four times in the Bible and usually in Psalms and poetic passages. The name ‘Elyon’ stresses His highest supremacy. When the two names El and Elyon are combined, the resultant name can be literally translated as ‘the Extremely-Exalted, Sovereign, High God” as in Psalm 57:2. David said, ‘I cry out to the Most-High Elohim, to El, who is perfecting all matters for me.
When you integrate the Love that Jehovah El Elyon only can give you for others, praise, and thanksgiving – joy will fill your soul. As you speak the Word, you will be significantly rewarded. Spread Love with joy for Jehovah El Elyon, the Most-High God who is unique in His supremacy above all others with patience and watch Him turn radically transform lives!
