Biblical Principles of Planting
Precious one, farmers know that when they plant a seed, they are planting life, and when you witness to others the gospel of Jesus Christ, you are planting life. The seed farmers plant may not come up overnight, but when it is watered, it will come up. 1 Corinthians 9 Is a chapter in the Bible about money, giving, sowing, and reaping, but it can also be applied to witnessing to others. Some sow, others water, but God brings the increase. (1 Corinthians 3:6-7) You must sow to reap. If you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly. If you sow bountifully, you will also reap bountifully. There are three laws about sowing and reaping:
1. You must first plant a seed before you obtain a harvest.
2. You reap what you sow.
3. You reap more than you sow.
If you sow tomato seed, you reap tomatoes. If you plant the gospel, you are going to reap souls. Many people who sow into Empowering International Ministries have reaped a breakthrough financially. We give generously! Apply the same principle of being generous about money to the gospel; you must first plant a seed in the ground to reap a harvest. I have been blessed to witness many people that have come to the Lord. Some received Christ as their Savior, and others didn’t. Why? Some sow, some water but God brings the increase. It is the goodness of God that draws people to repentance. (Romans 2:4)   You must sow something before you can reap a harvest. If you want to win souls to Christ, you must be a seed planter. God offers everyone eternal life, and it’s a gift.
(1 Corinthians 3:4-6) Paul gives a straightforward message to the church at Corinth because they were saying some were disciples of Paul, and some were disciples of Apollos. He said, ‘No, no, no! We are all disciples of Jesus Christ. Paul said, ‘I planted the church, Apollos came and cared for the church, but aren’t we doing the work of the ministry? God is the one who caused it to grow!’ Some plants, some water but God brings the increase! (Romans 2:4) This means the one who plants is not anybody special, nor the one who waters, for God is the one who brings supernatural growth. (1 Corinthians 3:6-7) You lead people to Christ, but God is the one who saves them! He who wins souls is wise. (Proverbs 11:30)
