You are Likened to a Tree
My beloved one, many times in scripture you and I are called trees. You are stronger than you know! You are like a tree planted by water, whose roots run deep and wide, and though the storms come and the winds blow you shall not be moved. Why? Because you stand strong on the Word of God, and He alone gives you strength to overcome whatever life throws your way. Pay attention to what the blind man told Jesus he saw after he laid hands on him. After Jesus spit on His hand, He laid it over the blind man’s eyes and then He asked, ‘Can you see anything now?’ The man looked around and said, ‘yes! I see people, that look like trees walking around!’ Jesus opened his spiritual eyes! He placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened, and he could see physically.
First Jesus opened his spiritual eyes (the eyes of his understanding) and then He opened his physical eyes. (Mark 8:22-25) The first thing the blind man saw was people that looked like trees. Throughout scripture we are described as trees:
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalms 1:1-3) Another scripture says, ‘I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. (Psalms 52:8) And the righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. (Psalms 92:12) “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7)
Zechariah said they were trees, but God said there were men. Jesus laid his hands on a blind man and says, ‘now what do you see he saw men that looked like trees. Then I answered and said to him, “What are these two olive trees—at the right of the lampstand and at its left?” And I further answered and said to him, “What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?” Then he answered me and said, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” So, he said, “These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.” (Zechariah 4:1-14) (Revelation 11:3-4 confirms Zechariah 4:1-14) You are like a tree planted by the water and I declare this day, ‘no matter what your circumstances you will not be moved! God is with you, and He is for you strengthening you for the battle ahead!
