Relentless Sowing and Reaping
Beloved one, Jesus taught in parables and one of the best known is the Parable of the Sower. It provides us with valuable insight into the Kingdom of God. The message is very simple whatever you sow, you reap! A farmer knows when he plants his seed in the ground, he will not reap the harvest the next week. He knows what he plants in spring will harvest in summer, and want he plants in summer he will harvest in the fall. God spoke to us in (Genesis 8:22) and said, ‘as long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer, and winter, day and night.” There will be seedtime and harvest time!
A farmer wants excellent seeds to plant in good fertile soil to produce a bountiful harvest. He must have the determination to do the work necessary to prepare the ground making sure the soil has all the right nutrients and is well-fertilized before he plants his seed. Then he must wait patiently to receive the harvest. Patience will carry you past the birds, the weather, and the thorns to harvest time. Patience is not the ability to wait, but how you act while you are waiting. (Romans 8:25)
Jesus painted a word picture for us when He shared the parable of the mustard seed. He said, ‘what shall we compare the Kingdom of God to?’ He said, “It’s like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32) He didn’t say anything to them without using a parable. However, when He was alone with His disciples, He explained everything. (Mark 4:30-32) Whatever you sow is exactly what you will reap. Be relentless in sowing good seed!
