Healing Restoration
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6 KJV)
My precious child, do you know someone who needs to be delivered and set free? I have the answer says the Lord. Jesus and his disciples sailed to the country of Gadarenes that’s in the opposite direction of Galilee. (Luke 8:26) So immediately when he stepped out of the boat, Jesus met a naked man controlled by a legion of demons (which was 6,000) who lived in tombs or cemeteries. (Luke 8:27-28) This poor man had lost control and had to be chained and kept under guard. When he saw Jesus, he fell in front of him, and in a loud voice, he cried out, ‘what have I to do with you Jesus, the Son of the Most-High God?’ I beg you not to torment me! Jesus commanded the unclean spirits to come out of this man because often, the spirit would take control of him. (Luke 8: 28-29) Jesus asked him, ‘what is your name?’ He said legion, which is 6,000 – many demons had entered him. They begged Jesus not to command them to go into the abyss. (Luke 8:30-31)
There was a herd of many pigs eating on the mountain, so they begged Jesus to throw them into the pigs. ((Luke 8:32) Immediately, the demons went out of the man and into the pigs, and the entire herd ran violently down the steep mountain into the lake and drowned. (Luke 8:32-33) When Jesus cast the offending demons into the nearby pigs, the man instantly grew calm and whole. (Luke 8:34) When the people of this city took one look at this man, they ask Jesus to leave! No doubt, they were happy to see this man healed – but not at the expense of their livestock! (Luke 8:35) They were afraid of the demon-possessed man, but they were more afraid of Jesus, who took complete control of the situation. (Luke 8:36-37) The man went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him. (Luke 8:39) It’s important to remember in any conflict; Jesus doesn’t want to take sides – He wants to take over and bring healing restoration to the situation! Do you resemble the Gadarenes? How often do you want Jesus to solve your problems but save your pigs because you don’t want to upset things or get too radical? You want to change if it doesn’t change you. However, this is not the way Jesus of Nazareth does things! It requires surrendering to Jesus and allowing Him to work out His perfect plan in us. I am confident of this that He who has begun a good work in you will continue to perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
