Obtaining the Wisdom of God
My beloved, oh, how I love wisdom! I pursue wisdom. Solomon taught us through Proverbs and Ecclesiastes to treasure wisdom above silver, gold, or expensive gems. In the nineties, I was hit with a huge blow and began to seek God for wisdom in all I do. I hungered and pursued wisdom. I started reading Proverbs every day to gain wisdom. One thing I have learned when you make a mistake and learn from the mistake, you gain wisdom. I am indeed wise beyond my years today because I made a lot of mistakes in my early years. I made up my mind around the age of fifty; I no longer must learn things the hard way; I can learn from others’ mistakes. Since that time, I have walked in the wisdom and blessing of the Lord. Make up your mind to follow the path of wisdom, which is where you will find Christ Jesus.
Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. (Proverbs 3:13-15) She offers you long life in her right hand and riches and honor in her left. Did you hear that? When you pray for yourself or others – (Proverbs 3:16), lay hands on yourself with your right hand. Why? Because healing for long life and health is in your right hand – finances and honor are in your left hand. Wisdom will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly. (Proverbs 3:17-18) By wisdom, the Lord founded the earth; by understanding, he created the heavens. By His knowledge, the deep fountains of the world burst forth, and the dew settles beneath the night sky. (Proverbs 3:19-20).
My child don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble. You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap. (Proverbs 3:21-26) Common sense and discernment are gifts from the Lord! I declare and decree you have common sense and keen discernment. The wise inherit honor! (Proverbs 3:35)
Father, I ask you to release the wisdom of God, common sense, discernment, and understanding from King Solomon to each person desiring wisdom in Jesus’ all-powerful name. Amen.
