Hope
Where there is no vision, the people perish. (Proverbs 29:18 KJV)
Precious one, have you ever been discouraged or struggled with depression? You are not alone! When you are hopeless, the enemy comes in like a flood to steal, kill, and destroy you and your future. (John 10:10) God has a plan and a purpose for you (Jeremiah 29:11-13), and if you are still breathing, He’s not finished with you! Some time ago, while walking through a difficult season an oppressive, depressive spirit attacked me. It was as though I had been punched in the gut, and the breath knocked out of me. I discovered specific keys to help me overcome:
1. Making daily declarations by speaking what God says about my future (prophesying the future)
(Job 22:28)
2. Praying in the spirit doing warfare
(Romans 8:26-27)
3. Reading the Word of God more and meditating on a scripture a day – hiding it in my heart (Joshua 1:7-9)
It wasn’t long before I had risen above my circumstances. I was encouraged as I read the Word and prayed without outside encouragement. A little at a time, God began to give me a ‘New Vision’ of the future, little glimpses of His plan. Suddenly, I was ignited and refueled by the dunamis ‘power’ Holy Spirit. God desires to do the same for you!
During this time, I received the revelation of (Proverbs 29:18) without a vision My people perish. You must have a vision of the future, or you will lose your hope! How do you get hope? You ask God to give you the vision He has for you and listen, then write down what He gives you over the next few days. (Habakkuk 2:2-3) As I studied and meditated on the Word and went about my business, God began giving me a new vision for the future. If you have received Christ as your Savior, He lives in you, and over time He will change your heart and give you His desires, then He will begin bringing them to pass. (Psalms 37:4) The thoughts are not your thoughts; God is stirring up the desires He gave you.
You are an extension cord of God. When you plug into His power, He will ignite the dream in you and refuel you for His purposes. The key to hope being restored is vision! This is a prophetic Word from the Lord for someone reading this. I especially want to encourage you if you are over sixty-five and feel like you have no future. God created you for a purpose. It is His plan for you to leave a legacy for the next generation. Remember, Abraham turned away from idol worship at seventy-five, and for the next hundred years, he followed the one true God, maker of heaven and earth (Acts 7:2-8). If God can give me a new vision and increase refuel me, He can do it for you!
Pray this with me:
Father God, I boldly come before your throne, and I take authority and dominion over this oppressive, depressive spirit that has attacked me, I command you evil wicked spirits to go back to drylands from whence you came. You are trespassing against God’s property, and I arrest you on the authority of the Word of God – leave NOW! In the place of oppression and depression, I release peace, joy, and hope for the future. I ask You Father to give me Your vision for the future and refuel me to finish strong in the holy righteous name of Jesus. Amen.
