Double for Your Trouble
My child, why do you believe when there is a crisis or adversity in your life you must be doing something wrong? When you look at what comes your way negatively – you are unable to move to the next level. When you are under Satan’s attack it’s time to focus on Me and begin to praise Me, and meditate on My Word day and night. One day I was having an angel meeting and Satan your accuser showed up. I said, ‘Satan what are you doing here?” He said, ‘I am going up and down the earth seeking whom I may destroy.’ (Job 1:6-7) I said, ‘Have you noticed My friend Job? There is no one quite like Job, he’s honest and true to his word, full of integrity, totally devoted to Me, he hates evil and stays away from it.
Satan snapped, ‘So you think Job does all that out of the sheer goodness of his heart, why no one ever had it so good! He fears You because You have always put a wall of protection around him, his family, his home, and his property. You have made him prosperous in everything he does. Look how rich he is! He can’t lose. But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will curse you to your face.’ I replied, ‘you will see! Go ahead, you may test him. Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but do not harm him physically. (Job 1:8-12)
Then Satan left My presence. Satan destroyed everything, his barns, home, children, and cattle in a day. “Job said, ‘I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship Me. In all of this, He did not sin by blaming God. (Job 1:13-21) Satan then struck Job with boils from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet. His beloved friends wanted to know what kind of sin he had committed, but Job had not sinned.
His wife told him to curse God and die. But instead, he had a repentant heart and prayed for his friends that I would have mercy on them. (Job 2:1-13) The moment he prayed for his friends I restored to My faithful servant Job double for all his trouble! I gave him twice as much as he had before. (Job 42:10) I was confident that no matter what Satan did, Job would continue serving Me! I am confident in you that though Satan slays you, you will continue serving Me. In the later part of Job’s life, I blessed him with twice as much as he had before and lived a long, full life. I will give you double for all your trouble!
