Old Fashioned Chicken Bone Broth
I have had many requests for my Old-Fashioned Chicken Bone Broth, my doctor recommended to me many years ago, so here it is:
1 whole organic chicken with no hormones or antibiotics ($20)
Salt and pepper to your liking
2-quart pan of water
Orrington Farms Chicken Soup Base (Walmart $3, or Amazon) (Picture attached) (In Soup Section)
One large Crockpot
Directions: Turn Crockpot on high. Wash chicken inside out well, place in Crockpot.
In a 2-quart saucepan filled with water, add 1/3 jar of Orrington Farms Chicken Soup Base, Salt, and Pepper. Bring to a boil. Pour over chicken. Fill to the brim of the crockpot. Let the chicken cook on high for 5-6 hours.
Vegetable Recipe:
2 large containers of Swanson Chicken Broth
3 Sprigs Thyme and 3 Bay Leaves (place in Material Pouch)
1 Package of Baby Carrots
1 Stalk of Celery (sliced)
2 Large Onion (chopped)
In a separate large pot add Swanson’s Chicken Soup Broth
Carrots, Celery, Onion, Thyme and Bay Leaf (Put in a small material pouch, you can purchase from Amazon)
Directions:
Cover and cook till vegetables are done.
Remove chicken from broth, and vegetables from the broth. Strain and mix both broths. Will make 4 to 4 1/2 quarts of rich broth.
This is a very old recipe, used 50 to 100 years ago for the treatment of anyone sick.
You can use chicken and vegetables to make Chicken Noodle Soup. Enjoy!
