Jesus is Our Mediator
Jesus is our Mediator, Intercessor, Advocate, and our Lord. He stands between us and the Father. For this, cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. (Ephesians 3:14-15) Kneeling when you pray is to humble yourself, it is an act of submission to Almighty God, to His will, plan, and purpose. Jesus Christ is our Mediator.
1. There is one mediator, Christ.
For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, (Hebrews 1:1-2) God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.
(Hebrews 9:15) A mediator is someone who reconciles disputes or disagreements. A buffer, go-between, peacemaker, intercessor, and Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for you right now. (Matthew 26:64)
If this were a personality, then one would begin to think that it is in a position somewhere between us and the Father. But the Bible makes no mention of anything of the kind. There is only one between us and God, and that One is the Son. This is similar in form to (1 Corinthians 11:3), which shows that, of the Deities above us, only One stands between us and God the Father, that is, God the Son. This means that not even the Holy Spirit, sent to us as a Comforter, is a mediator.
The Holy Spirit is referred to as the parakletos, the Comforter. The Holy Spirit is our guide, leading us into all truth. Comforter means “one who goes alongside.” That means you are never alone He is always with you. (Genesis 28:15)
And for this reason, Jesus is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. (Hebrews 9:15) Thank You Jesus for being our Mediator!
