Do You Have the Character Traits of Jesus?

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. (Hebrews 1:3 NLT)

My precious child I asked My disciples how does the world view Me?  They said, ‘some say You reflect Elijah, yet others say You are the Jeremiah mold.’ (Matthew 21:11) I tell you this day I am a blend of the characteristics of both men and desire for you to emulate. (John 1:21) What were their traits:
1.Elijah was chosen by God to be a prophet. He was a man’s man; he was Mr. Firm and straight as an arrow. He was strong spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Elijah was a no-nonsense kind of guy with unusual strength of character. He had an intense spiritual drive and determined will. Elijah was a man of prayer. (James 5:17-18) He had great faith, courage and was brave, yet he could get very discouraged. Once he ran away from all stress of being a prophet and God had to remind him, he was not alone. (1 Kings 17-21) My Son Jesus had these same character traits. It was easy to associate the two because of their strength.
2.Jeremiah was the exact opposite of Elijah. He was gentle, compassionate, kind, merciful, patient, and genteel. He was known to weep openly; he was highly sensitive and had a great capacity for love and kindness. Like Jesus – Jeremiah was tenderhearted and possessed great feelings. (Jeremiah 1-18) Jeremiah teaches us tremendous lessons in the face of adversity and trials. (James 1:2-4) Jesus also has the same traits as Jeremiah, he is gentle, compassionate, merciful, loving and kind. Does your life reflect these powerful traits?
If you put Elijah and Jeremiah together you have a person who is tough but gentle, firm but compassionate, rugged yet strong, but blessed with great sensitivity. It would be good if you could integrate the same qualities in your life. Be firm against sin, but compassionate toward the sinner. Then I asked My disciples, ‘Who do you say I am?’  Peter said, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.’ I replied to Peter – ‘You are blessed, Simon Son of John, because the Father in Heaven has revealed this to you!’  (Matthew 6:13-17) Who do people say you are most like? Do you live a life of love, peace, joy, kindness, goodness, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, and self – control? (Galatians 5:22-23) Every day you have opportunity to model My character. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation – the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ, for this will bring much glory and praise to God. (Philippians 1:11) Jesus radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. (Hebrews 1:3 NLT)
