Your Words Cut or Heal
Reckless words are like the thrusts of a sword, cutting remarks meant to stab and to hurt. But the words of the wise soothe and heal. (Proverbs 12:18 KJV)
My child your words can heal, or they can cut like the piercing of a sword. (Proverbs 12:18) Those who speak sarcastic, belittling words may appear on the exterior fine but on the inside, they are bruised and bleeding. If they do not receive healing from the invisible pain, they suffer it will show up in another form such as addiction, sickness, disease or even worse. In the Greek the word ‘sarcasm’ means ‘to tear the flesh like a dog eating a piece of raw meat.’ Cynical words cut like a sword! People who are cynical can cut you into pieces with their tongue. Their words will tear their victims to shreds, not only wounding the flesh but especially wound your spirit! If you have been wounded by words you must recognize you need healing.
The only One who can heal your spirit is your Lord and Maker. I am Jehovah Rophe, your healer. Come running to Me and I will restore your spirit and your soul. You must remember that by your words you are justified or by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 12:37) Your words have so much power in them – they carry with them life or death, blessing or cursing. (Proverbs 18:21) If you understood the incredible power of your words – you would prefer to be silent to talking. When you speak something out – good or bad, you give life to it. You are literally prophesying the future. My disciple Mark tell you clearly whatsoever you say – you shall have it. The tongue of the wise promotes healing and health. Your words can cut or mend – they can wound, or they can heal. Your words can tear down or build up – the choice is yours. Luke shared My example before others: Everyone spoke well of him and was amazed by the gracious words that came from his lips. (Luke 4:22) I am your role model – follow Me!
Watch your thoughts – they become your words.
Watch your words – they become your actions.
Watch your actions – they become your habits.
Watch your habits – they become your character.
Watch your character – it becomes your destiny. Lao-Tze
